It’s a place where seasoned musicians and rising talents come together, creating a unique, spontaneous, and always surprising musical experience.
NOTE TO VOCALISTS: It’s easiest if you know standards in their original key, but often you will need us to play in another key, which is fine; just let us know. If you need to read the lyrics, you don’t know the tune well enough, pick something you really know. Beyond this, if you have charts for specific arrangements you want to do, bring at least 4 copies. We can discuss what is appropriate.
NOTE TO MUSICIANS: If you plan on sitting in, you should know tunes from the jazz standards repertoire, including Blues heads and rhythm changes by heart. Reading charts is discouraged. We love Wayne Shorter’s tunes, so it’s good to know some of them. Here is a partial list of tunes we play:
